    2. Grants to Make a Difference

Most of our grant funding is targeted to help meet the needs of diverse ethnic groups, seniors, people with special needs, women, low-income, and gay and lesbian populations – groups that are often underserved.

We're partnering with local nonprofits that have programs focused on education, the environment, public safety & emergency preparedness, and civic engagement. All grant applications are by invitation only and no unsolicited proposals are being accepted at this time. Please check back for further updates.

      Education

We believe education has the power to change lives, communities, and the world. More than 50% of our funding goes toward educational programs designed to help keep kids in school while opening doors to higher education.

We look for education programs that emphasize science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in middle school, high school, and college levels, including tutoring, scholarships, and college-access programs. We also support arts education programs in the middle school and high school levels.

      Environment

Our commitment to protecting the environment began decades ago, and it's deeply rooted in our company culture as we fight to prevent climate change.

We're uniting with nonprofits that have the passion and expertise to help shift environmental issues impacting our state and the world, such as improving Southern California's air quality, conserving green spaces for future generations, keeping our oceans blue, and creating healthier communities by increasing access to clean energy solutions.

      Public Safety & Emergency Preparedness

Disaster can strike suddenly, anywhere and at any time. Earthquakes pose a real and ongoing threat, and wildfires are an urgent problem with devastating consequences for all Californians.

Edison is committed to protecting our communities and helping families be prepared for natural and human-caused disasters. Our support is focused on programs that address wildfire risk, emergency preparedness and electrical safety.

      Civic Engagement

We know that our success hinges on the success of the communities we serve.

To help keep our communities strong, we partner with organizations that provide vital services such as workforce development, including transition services for veterans, leadership development and capacity building for local nonprofits.
